Standard delivery and collection are $150 within approximately 20 km for eligible plant-trailer machines. The 5.5T ViO55-6B requires flatbed-truck transport quoted by job location. Tell us the job location when you call or SMS and we will work out the practical transport, delivery and return arrangements with you when confirming the hire.
More useful hire time. No standard 4pm depot deadline.
We agree delivery, return and collection times directly with you. Where practical, we can also arrange collection after normal business hours, so you are not forced to stop work early simply to meet a depot closing time. The agreed hire period still applies, so contact us before the agreed return or collection time if your plans change.
Customer collection is by appointment for eligible plant-trailer machines. The K008-3 and U17-3 require at least 2,500 kg braked towing capacity and the U25-3 requires at least 3,500 kg. A compatible functioning electric brake controller, current full open driver licence and comprehensive insurance are also required. Collection details and the exact vehicle arrangement are confirmed before approval. The plant trailer is included where agreed for collection. The 5.5T ViO55-6B is delivery only by flatbed truck. When we deliver, Digger2Hire normally retains the trailer unless otherwise agreed beforehand.
Your physical driver licence must be shown at handover. Payment is taken at delivery or collection after the required ID and handover checks.
Common questions
Before you hire.
Clear answers help you choose the right machine, plan access and avoid delays on the day.
What is included in the $250 daily rate?
The $250 daily rate includes the Kubota U17-3 and the confirmed attachment package, with no separate daily hire charges for those included attachments. Brisbane includes three buckets, a ripper, Auger Torque X2000 drive with 300 mm and 450 mm augers, and a hydraulic rock grabber where suitable. Northern Rivers and Tweed U17 hires also include a sleeper grab. Delivery is separate.
Do you deliver the excavator?
Yes. Standard delivery and collection are $150 return within approximately 20 km for eligible plant-trailer machines, subject to access, scheduling and the confirmed service area. Longer distances can be quoted individually. The 5.5T ViO55-6B requires flatbed-truck transport and delivery is quoted based on the job location. Calls are welcome 24/7 and delivery or collection can be arranged 24 hours a day to suit the confirmed hire where practical. We normally retain the plant trailer during delivered hires unless agreed otherwise.
Can I collect the machine myself, and what do I need to tow it?
Approved customer collection may be available by appointment for eligible plant-trailer machines from Cannon Hill for Brisbane hires or Tweed Heads for Northern Rivers and Tweed hires. For eligible customer collection, the K008-3 and U17-3 require at least 2,500 kg braked towing capacity and the U25-3 requires at least 3,500 kg. You also need a compatible functioning electric brake controller, a current full open driver licence and comprehensive insurance. We check the exact vehicle and transport arrangement before confirming collection. The 5.5T ViO55-6B requires flatbed-truck delivery and cannot be customer collected.
I’ve never used an excavator before. Can I still hire one?
Yes. Many customers are first-time operators. At handover, we’ll walk you through the controls, safety features and basic checks. You’ll still need to operate the machine safely and follow the supplied instructions, so tell us about your job and access first and we’ll help assess whether the machine and dry-hire arrangement are suitable.
Will the excavator fit through my side access?
It depends on the machine and the complete access route. The U17-3 retracts to approximately 990 mm wide; the Northern Rivers and Tweed K008-3 retracts to approximately 700 mm. Measure gates, posts, walls, eaves, turns, slopes and ground conditions, not just the gate opening. Dimensions are guidance only, so send measurements or useful photos before booking.
Where can I find cheap mini excavator hire?
When comparing cheap mini excavator hire, look at the total hire cost, not just the advertised machine-only rate. Our Kubota U17-3 is $250 per day, with the confirmed attachment package included and no separate daily hire charges for those included attachments. There is no GST added to our advertised hire price. You also get direct 24/7 phone support and flexible 24/7 delivery and collection by arrangement. Compare the complete package before deciding which hire is actually cheaper.
